Steel Dynamics* Busse Is New AISI Chairman
06/04/2008- Washington, D.C. 每 The Board of Directors of the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) have elected Keith E. Busse, chairman and chief executive officer, Steel Dynamics, Inc., to a one-year term as chairman of the Institute. He was sworn in as chairman at the Board*s spring meeting in Scottsdale, Arizona on May 4.

Steel Import Permit Applications Decrease 20 Percent
06/04/2008- Washington, D.C. - Based on the Commerce Department*s most recent Steel Import Monitoring and Analysis (SIMA) data, the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported today that steel import permit applications for the month of May totaled 2,393,000 net tons (NT).

AISI Releases 2007 Annual Statistical Report
06/03/2008- WASHINGTON, D.C. 每 The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the primary source of statistical information on the North American steel industry, announced the release of its 2007 Annual Statistical Report (ASR) today.

April Imports up 15 Percent vs. March
05/29/2008- Washington, D.C. 每 Based on preliminary Census Bureau data, the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported today that the U.S. imported a total of 2,944,000 net tons (NT) of steel in April 2008, including 2,194,000 NT of finished steel (up 15 and 4 percent, respectively, vs. March final data).

March Steel Shipments Down 1.9 Percent From Last Year
05/14/2008- WASHINGTON, D.C. 每 The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported today that for the month of March 2008, U.S. steel mills shipped 9,158,000 net tons, a 1.9 percent decrease from the 9,331,000 net tons shipped in March 2007 and a 0.2 percent decrease from the 9,174,000 net tons shipped in the previous month, February 2008.

Steel Import Permit Applications Increase 14 Percent Over Prior Month
